The Journey to Become a Friend of God
July 25, 2024Angels are workers in the Kingdom of Heaven. God is the King and we are sons and daughters of the Kingdom. This effectively puts Angels at our service. We rank higher than them because we are heirs to God and joint heirs with Christ. As children of the Kingdom of God, we are entitled to royal treatment because our Father is the King. For this reason, each of us is assigned a guardian Angel to take care of us. The Guardian Angel reports to the King about your state on Earth. We are under 24-hour surveillance because we are a precious royalty.Â
God wants you to seek help from the Angels assigned to you. This is their divinely appointed duty – to serve those who inherit salvation. This is the role of Angels in your life:Â
1. To protect you.Â
There are many threats to your life and God wants you to be safe from all of them. You are a valuable child of the Kingdom and it is unthinkable how it would be if something bad happened to you. Consider how governments invest in the security of their head of state. Their security is entrusted to an elite presidential unit. They are escorted to every public engagement and the people they meet go through a thorough security check. This is how Angels protect the heirs of the Kingdom. The Bible describes such protection to believers as a command that God will give to His Angels. They will guard you in all your ways. You are a precious child of the Kingdom and the Angels know it very well. God wants you to embrace the protection role that Angels play in your life. Â

2. To communicate God’s message.Â
Proper and effective communication solves a lot of existing problems and cuts off potential ones. The communication between God and your spirit should be in the best possible state. For this reason, God uses His Angels to communicate with us from time to time. He sends them to make important announcements like the birth of Jesus, John the Baptist, or Samson.
Sometimes, Angels come to comfort our spirits like it was with Paul and Silas when they were in prison. They warn us as it was with Joseph when he was instructed to take Mary and Jesus to exile in Egypt. Angels have always been messengers of God. It is His will that we embrace them and their role as His messengers. Do not doubt the word of the Lord through His Angels. Mary believed in Angel Gabriel’s message about the birth of the Messiah. So did Manoah’s wife about the birth of Samson. God was pleased with them for that. Believe in the word of the Lord through His messengers. Â
3. To observe you.Â
The Bible describes how we have been made a spectacle to the whole Universe, to both Angels and human beings. This leads us to understand one more role of Angels – to observe us. Unlike them, we are created in the image and likeness of God. We rank higher than Angels and they are at our service as children of the Kingdom. Angels observe our lives and report to God about our progress here on Earth. They are the eyes and ears of God in your life.
In light of this, it is wise to watch out for your daily lifestyle. You are like a thespian on stage and the audience is the Angels and Saints. Embrace this role of Angels by living an exemplary life and building a worthy testimony that the Angels will take to God. Consider how God was pleased with Job and boasted about him to Satan. It is His Angels who brought Job’s righteousness to His attention. They can do the same with you and God’s focus will be upon you. Â

4. To encourage you.Â
For a long time now, Angels have been a strong pillar of support to believers. When Jesus was praying at the Mount of Olives, He was greatly distressed about His impending arrest and crucifixion. An Angel from Heaven appeared and strengthened Him. He felt that he was not alone during that difficult time.
Further, Angels freed Paul, Silas, and Peter from Prison and this greatly encouraged the early church to continue preaching the gospel. The early church was encouraged to know that God was with them. God wants you to embrace Angels in their capacity to motivate your spirit. Do not despair when you face challenges because God is still by your side. He will send His Angels to strengthen you as He did with Jesus and the early church. Â
5. To deliver you.Â
Angels are actively involved in the deliverance of God’s people. They minister to us with excellence as God commands. They will deliver you from evil traps and warn you about oncoming danger. God sent Angels on Earth to minister to those who receive salvation. He wants you to live a worry-free life because He has put servants in charge of your welfare. Sometimes, you may feel lonely and cast out especially when you are not sure about what the future holds for you. God is reassuring you not to worry because His Angels will deliver you. He wants you to embrace this offer as a child of the Kingdom. It is part of the package of being royalty.Â
6. To care for you at death.Â
Angels move us to our heavenly homes. They are an important part of our transition from the world to Paradise. In the parable of the rich man and Lazarus, Jesus narrates how the Angels carried the beggar when he died into Abraham’s bosom. This is part of the care package that God commissions Angels to give to His children. It does not stop even during death. God is reassuring you that your needs in eternal life shall be taken care of by Heavenly servants. This is how much He loves and cares for us. Â
Our relationship with Angels comes a long way. God reveals that we shall judge Angels when the time comes. He wants us to turn to them for help and not to fear them. Â
