Angels are spiritual beings who are at God’s service. There are a host of Angels in Heaven in different departments playing various roles. There is a hierarchy that they follow – Archangels being at the highest level. Throughout the history of humanity, Angels play an important role in establishing communication between God and man. At the same time, it is difficult to see them with your naked eyes because they are spiritual beings. The mystery of how to identify Angels in your life when they remain invisible to the naked eye remains unsolved. Thankfully, God has continuously guided His people to know the time of their visitation by Angels. This is part of it: 

1. The actions of animals. 

The Biblical story of Balaam reveals how animals can see Angels when we don’t. Three times, the Angel of the Lord blocked the road that Balaam was taking. It is his donkey that turned away these three times and the Angel who was ready to slay Balaam spared his life. Out of frustration, Balaam struck his donkey and he spoke! This is a miracle. The Lord then opened his eyes to see the Angel standing in his way. 

Sometimes our pets and animals behave differently from how we expect them to. The Lord wants us to pay attention to them because it could be that His Angel has visited us, just as it was with Balaam. Treat animals under your care well enough and the Lord may open your eyes to see His Angel and receive His message, or even spare you death like Balaam. 

2. Visitors coming to your home. 

Sometimes Angels take the form of visitors. They visited Abraham as he sat outside his tent. He welcomed them warmly. This hospitality pleased the visitors and they promised Abraham and Sarah a son. The Lord had taken the form of the three men who visited Abraham that day. 

God wants us to be warm to visitors, just as Abraham did and he received the promise of a son. Anytime a visitor knocks at your door could be the time of your visitation. Welcoming an Angel of the Lord opens doors of blessings and turns around your life forever. 

3. Day-time visions. 

God can send his Angels to you in a vision as it happened with Cornelius. He saw a vision of God’s Angel who instructed him to send men to meet Simon Peter. The Bible narrates how Cornelius was a prayerful centurion and his generosity had touched God. It pleased God to connect Simon Peter with Cornelius so that he, his relatives, and close friends could receive salvation. It so happened and they received the Holy Spirit when Simon Peter was ministering. 

The time of the visitation of Angels in your life could be during your prayer time. It happened with Cornelius, Simon Peter, Daniel, and many other Biblical figures. God wants you to open your mind and heart during prayers. 

4. A voice in your spirit. 

The Angel of the Lord can visit you through a voice in your spirit. It happens when you are prayerful and sensitive in the Spirit. When the King of Samaria wanted to meet Elijah, he sent a captain of fifty men, thrice, to call him. Fire from heaven consumed the first two groups then the Angel of the Lord spoke to Elijah through a voice in his spirit urging him to go with the third one.  

How many times have you heard a voice in your spirit guiding you towards something? It could be the voice of the Lord’s Angel and the time for your visitation has arrived. God wants you to listen to His Angel. He has a message for you. 

5. Real people convincing you to do something. 

Sometimes the Angel of the Lord takes human form and comes into your life. He protects you from danger and convinces you to act as He directs. It happened to Lot when he welcomed two visitors into his home. They were Angels. When the men of the city came to Lot’s home and threatened to break into it, the Angels brought Lot inside and struck the violent men with blindness. Thereafter, the two Angels urged Lot to take his family and leave Sodom in the morning. He was reluctant but they took him out of the city. 

It often happens that sometimes strangers convince you to act in a particular way. While it is true that some people could be misleading, at the same time others could be the Angels. God wants you to pay attention to people in your life and what they influence you to do. Be careful not to dismiss the time of your visitation because had Lot done the same, he would have perished in Sodom.   

6. New revelation when you are working. 

Biblically, the Angel of the Lord has appeared to people in their line of work. He appeared to Gideon when he was threshing wheat. He also appeared to the shepherds keeping watch at the time of the birth of Jesus. In both cases, the Angel of the Lord had good news for them. He ordained Gideon as a mighty man of valor and told the shepherds of the Messiah’s birth.  

God can send His Angels to you when you are working. He wants you to be attentive in your spirit even as you engage in your ordinary work. This proves that God is not intimidated by the nature of your work. Neither does it prevent him from sending His Angels to you. Instead, he wants you to be dedicated to it because it could as well be the time of your visitation.  

 7. When you are in a dilemma. 

A dilemma is a point of indecision. The Angel of the Lord is with you when you are at a crossroads. Joseph was undecided whether to leave Mary after he found out that she was pregnant. He did not want to shame her. The Angel of the Lord appeared to him and told him that Mary was pregnant for the Holy Spirit. Joseph was reassured and he decided to continue marrying Mary.  

It also happens to us that we are sometimes undecided about a matter. God wants you to pay attention to your spirit because this could be the time of your visitation. He will send His Angel to come and guide you on the path you should take. Thereafter, you can act confidently because you are sure that the Lord is with you. 

God wants you to continually remain in the spirit because it will make it easier to identify the time of your visitation by His Angels. The Holy Spirit shall be your guide.
