The Power of Resurrection in the Life of a Christian
July 25, 2024Beauty is attractive. It is magnetic and irresistible. Beauty runs the world. People go where it is and it charms them to do its bidding. Homes and offices have invested a lot to make their spaces beautiful. It could be to attract customers or to make it feel safe to be on their premises. Still, investing in beauty is a wise decision.
Similarly, the Lord is beautiful, and His presence is even more beautiful. He has shown his beauty to His servants throughout Biblical history and it left a landmark in their lives. King David spoke of the Lord’s beauty, where it is found, and how it has impacted his life. While most people would ask for wealth and riches from God if given an opportunity, King David seeks only one thing from Him – to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple. The beauty of the Lord is found in His temple. It is safe from worldly tribulation and all forms of stress because it is His Holy dwelling place.
This matter and much more in the life of King David pleased the Lord to the extent that He praised the son of Jesse. It is in how David always found a way to appreciate the strength and beauty of the Lord in His personal life and the nation of Israel.

Just like with King David, a lot of things happen in the life of a Christian. Despite all of this, the beauty of the Lord is renewed daily in your life from the rising of the sun and the setting of the same. He wants you to appreciate it more. It is like a bright shining light that chases away any darkness.
This is what happens when you appreciate the beauty of the Lord:
- Your sins are forgiven.
The power of the beauty of the Lord is found in how it washes away your sins. When you enter His presence, it first convicts you of your sins then turns you into a new person. You become someone whom your former self can hardly recognize. This is what happened to Simon Peter. Jesus told Simon to take his vessel into the water and fish. He complained that they had fished the whole night and caught nothing.
However, at Jesus’ word, they will cast their nets again. They caught a large number of fish that their nets began to break. This miracle opened Peter’s eyes that He was standing in front of the Lord Himself. His beauty filled the vessel and he was convicted of his sins. Feeling guilty, Simon Peter asked Jesus to depart from him because he was a sinful man. Instead, Jesus asked him to follow Him and He will make him a fisher of men. Peter’s life and the disciples who were with him changed from this point onwards.
Do you feel sinful because of your past? It is because of the beauty of the Lord. His presence will make you feel remorseful and want to qualify to be there. Peter was forgiven his sins when Jesus promoted him to become a fisher of men. The beauty of the Lord is Holiness. The Lord wipes away your sins when you appreciate His beauty.

Your body is healed.
Jesus healed many sick people and cast out demons from those who were possessed. Many of them are people who heard of Jesus’ great ministry and believed in the miracles that He performed. When they came to Jesus, they were sure that they would also be healed and their life restored to their former glory. Consider how the woman who had an issue of blood for twelve years was healed. Her condition made her unclean and she was forbidden from mingling with other people in the community. No one could heal her.
However, the good news of the gospel gave her hope that Jesus could restore her beauty and take away her shame. She was healed immediately when she touched the edge of Jesus’ cloak.
Are you sick or is anyone you know feeling unwell? Healing is your portion when you take faith as the woman with the issue of blood did. The beauty of the Lord will heal your body and take away your shame. There is beauty in a healed body and spirit, not in a suffering one. The Lord will make it happen for you.

Your life also becomes beautiful.
Beauty is contagious. Your life will become beautiful when you associate with the beauty of the Lord. There is a thing about beauty attracting beauty. It is a good type of contagiousness. The lives of many servants of the Lord changed for the better when they devoted their lives to behold the beauty of God. So perfect is the beauty of the Lord that it caused Moses’ face to glow after spending time in His presence. Moses had an intimate relationship with God and he was the only person to ever see the form of God and live. His life became beautiful because he appreciated and experienced the beauty of God firsthand.
The Lord fought his battles for him. He opened the Earth to swallow the rebels who incited the people against Moses’ leadership. He also struck Miriam, Moses’ sister, with leprosy when she bad-mouthed Moses for marrying Zipporah. The life of Moses was so beautiful that the scriptures say there has never been another great prophet in Israel whom the Lord spoke with face to face. This is the power of befriending the eternal beauty of the Lord. You become infected with some of it.
The more you know God, the more He beautifies your life. He will rewrite your history to become a very beautiful one. Who could ever have known that Moses who was a fugitive from Egypt would come back to lead the liberation of the Israelites? This is how other people will not know your next chapters in life.
