Identifying and Possessing your Blessings in the Lord
October 5, 2024The glory of God is like a robe of honor that He gives to Christians. It gives you recognition wherever you go. It tells the world that God recognizes you as His child and has clothed you with royal garments. Consider it like the priestly garments that priests put on when ministering. It has always been the case from the time of the first high priest, Aaron. The Levites wear special robes whenever they go before the Lord. This is part of their duties as Levites as they lead the people to God. You will not be able to hide it when the glory of God comes upon your life. You shall be called blessed and the chosen one of God because He has allowed His glory to come over your life.
There are Biblical examples of people who attracted the glory of God. Their experience was noble and very desirable. The glory of God came upon Jesus during His transfiguration on the mountain when He was with Peter, James, and John. During the transfiguration, Jesus’ face shone like the sun and His clothes became as white as light. Then God confirmed His relationship with Jesus that He was His Father and pleased with Him. This confirmation was the second time during the ministry of Jesus (the first time being during his baptism).
The other person who experienced the glory of God firsthand was Moses. After he had spoken to the Lord on Mount Sinai, his face was shining even when he came to speak to the people. He would wear a veil on his face when he came to speak to the people but remove it when he went before the Lord.

Both Jesus’ and Moses’ faces shone when the glory of God came upon them. Those who saw them during this time could not look at them straight in the face. Moses even appeared alongside Elijah during the transfiguration of Jesus. Elijah, Moses, and Jesus experienced the glory of God firsthand. We can follow their lead to attract the glory of God to our lives.
- Â Â Being prayerful.
Jesus went up the mountain to pray with his disciples when the transfiguration happened. Likewise, Moses had just returned from the mountain to speak to God when the people realized that his face was shining. Both Jesus and Moses were prayerful and God was pleased with them. He sent down His glory to their lives. Their lives were exemplary and God used them greatly in their time.
God wants you to be as prayerful as Jesus and Moses. They would go to the mountain, away from the distractions of other people to create prayer time with God. Likewise, His glory will come upon your life when you create time for Him. Your relationship with God will improve and your life shall be a living testimony.

- Â Â Being courageous.
Courage defines the people of God. They do not run away in the face of persecution. Neither Jesus nor Moses was afraid of the people being against them. There was a section of the Israelites who were incited to rebel against Moses’ leadership and threatened to take the people away if Moses did not give in to their demands. However, this did not shake Moses’ faith in God. This inspired God to bring His glory upon Moses’ life. He defended him openly before the whole Israelite population. To date, there is a testimony about the glory of the Lord in the life of Moses. He is credited as the only person ever to see the form of God.
God wants you to be courageous and not be shaken by life’s events. They are temporary but He is permanent. God did not give you a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. The Lord will bring His glory into your life when you believe in Him fearlessly. You are a child of a King; nothing can harm you in your Father’s kingdom.
- Â Â Being devoted to the work of God.
Moses was on the mountain with the Lord for forty days and nights without eating bread or drinking water. He devoted his life to serving God even when the Israelites complained to him. He did not give up on them but continued serving God faithfully, even pleading with God to spare the lives of the ungrateful people who did not appreciate God’s work. This trait pleased the Lord and He loved Moses more. Not once did Moses give up on the people. He believed God had a better plan for His people beyond the slavery in Egypt. Even after Moses’ death, the Bible explains how there has never risen a prophet in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord spoke with face to face.

God is checking on your level of devotion to His work. The more you are committed to it, the closer He comes into your life and His glory covers you. You will not remain the same when the Lord uses you to do His work. Jesus taught His disciples the same thing about devotion to the ministry. This is His glory in your life – when you are successful in all you do because of your devotion to God.
How long does it take?
You could be wondering how long it takes to attract the glory of God to your life. Human time is not God’s time. One day with the Lord is like a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. God wants you to align your life with His perfect will and His glory will be upon your life. Moses did not know that his face was shining when he came down from the mountain. It is the people who saw it and told him. You will also not know it when the Lord’s glory comes upon your life.
It takes as long or short as it pleases the Lord for His glory to come upon your life. It will eventually happen.
