The Benefits of a Heavenly Audit of your Spiritual Life
July 25, 2024About Heavenly mansions, Jesus revealed to His disciples that there are many rooms in His Father’s house. He also said that He was going to prepare a place for them and take them with Him for them to be together. By faith, we also believe that Jesus will prepare rooms for us in His father’s mansion. The take-home question is whether we know where Jesus is going.
A mansion is a large and impressive house with many facilities. It could have a beautiful kitchen garden, swimming pool, study room, house library, and a wine cellar. Living in a mansion is a dream come true for many people. It is a luxury that not many people can afford. Jesus going back to live in His Father’s Heavenly palace is the desire of everybody who has experienced God’s wealth. The best part is that He is taking us with Him to enjoy the luxuries of the mansion above. Our rooms in the mansion are ready to be occupied as Jesus promised. Our sole duty is to maintain them and keep them habitable.
Have you ever experienced checking in a five-star hotel? Whether it is during the summer holiday or a career workshop, staying in a five-star hotel is a beautiful dream that you will not want to wake up from. The full-board meals – breakfast through dinner, polite hotel staff, serene environment, and relaxing atmosphere give you a taste of wealth.
God also wants you to live large in His heavenly mansion. This is His promise to all those who accept salvation. You are now His child and entitled to all the heavenly luxury. A room in God’s mansion is more worthy than an entire seven-star hotel. While there is a lot that you can do in a mansion, the Lord wants you to follow the Godly route.
-
Appreciate the Lord’s riches.
God does not want you to boast about His riches but instead appreciate Him for letting you access it. Worldly people would take photos and post on social media to boast about the mansions they live in but the Lord wants you to be different from them. Consider how Jesus lived a humble life despite being the Son of God. He appreciated His place as the Son of God and used it to serve the people by preaching to them and healing their sick.

Similarly, do not boast that you are better than those yet to receive salvation. Instead appreciate the privilege of living in the Lord’s mansion by being modest about it. It is the blessing of the Lord that He has chosen to invite you to partake.
-
Honor God with wealth.
The Bible instructs us to honor God with our wealth. Riches are not a license to disregard God. You remain to be His child living in His mansion. You can live large and spend your riches honoring God. Abraham, David, and Solomon were wealthy during their time yet they honored God with their riches. King Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings to God on the altar, Abraham gave a tithe of all his wealth, and David sacrificed burnt offerings to God. Honoring God with your wealth does not make Him poor but it is being selfless with what He has blessed you with.
-
Trust in God above riches.
Sometimes living in a mansion can shift your hope to material things and you forget about the one who blessed you with them. God wants you to continue trusting in Him. He has permitted you to live in His mansion, provides all your needs, sustains your life, and pours joy into your spirit. He is the landlord of your life; trust in him more than how you love His mansion. A rich man once asked Jesus what to do to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus told him that he should obey God’s commandments, sell everything, and then follow Him.
The rich man could not do it. This shows his lack of trust in God. Jesus advised against being like that man. Trusting in God above riches shows where your priority is; let it be on the owner of the Heavenly mansion and not on the house.
-
Spend time with God.
An important part of living large is spending time with the one who has given you access to His riches. The more time you spend with God, the better you understand Him and fulfill His will. The disciples of Jesus spent time with him and learned a lot about spirituality and the Kingdom of Heaven. Living large in your Heavenly mansion is being knowledgeable about God and how you can improve your relationship with Him, the source of true riches.

The more time you spend with the owner of the mansion, the better you will understand the different places in it and you can maximize your experience there. You will know the location of the swimming pool, library, master bedroom, outdoor kitchen, store, etc. Spending time with God is the best form of living large. It is a valuable opportunity that should not pass you by.
-
Help the needy in your community.
God commands us to do good and help the needy. Other people have not yet received salvation and are not living in a spiritual mansion like yours. These are the people that God wants you to be generous towards. In doing so, you are laying up a treasure for yourself in heaven to enjoy eternal life there. Living large in your heavenly mansion is being selfless. Jesus was selfless to promise us rooms in His Father’s mansion if we followed him. It is a signal to also be selfless to invite as many who receive salvation into your Father’s mansion.
It is godly to live comfortably and large. It is the will of God that you do not live in poverty yet He owns the Heavens and the Earth. A Godly approach to wealth will sustain your riches in the Lord. Yes, you can live large in your Heavenly mansion, the Christian way.
