Understanding the Universe’s Web of Interconnectivity
May 6, 2024This is what the Bible says on this matter, “The peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Peace is like a preservative in the life of a Christian. Preservatives extend the shelf life of food and beverages. It is what peace does to us. It preserves us in the world so that we may stay “fresh” longer enough to survive. Even though we live in the world, we do not belong here. As Jesus was praying for His disciples, He asked God not to take them out of the world but to protect them from the evil one. You need the survival pill of peace to survive.
The ultimate peace for a Christian.
Jesus holds the survival pill you need to stay in the world. There was uncertainty among the disciples about how it would be when He finally ascended to Heaven. How would they face the Pharisees and the public when the master is no longer with them? Jesus knew what was running in their minds and had a solution for them. He gave them the ultimate survival pill – peace.
How can you tap into this peace that Jesus Christ left us? The first box to check is to become a disciple. His peace is for those who believe in Him and the Father who sent Him. Do you believe in the message of Salvation? You qualify for an unlimited supply of the survival pill of peace from Christ when you are a disciple.

As a Christian, worldly things may not give you the peace or joy that you need. They could contradict your faith in Christ because your perspective of life changed when you were born again. Life in Christ is peaceful when you look at it in a new way that is different from how you did before. It is how you tap into the joy and peace of the Lord.

Learn the truth from Jesus.
There is peace in truth. It removes all the tension from your life and you can relax by knowing all the facts. Jesus has all the facts about your life. He knows your entire history and the future that awaits you. He is our High Priest. He understands our weaknesses because He has been tempted just as we have, yet He did not sin. You can have peace knowing that your High Priest, the Son of God, knows the truth about what it means to be human. As you come before God’s throne of grace, you will receive mercy and find all the help you need. Peace comes with knowing that your judge relates to your situation. It is the truth you need to learn from Jesus.

Leave your old sinful nature.
Sin condemns your spirit. It makes you feel guilty about things you do and you have to constantly look over your shoulder. You have to leave your old sinful nature behind if you want to tap into the peace of the Lord. You can leave your old sinful nature behind when you confess your sins. God will forgive your sins and purify you from your old sinful nature. He will separate you from the dark past that you want to leave behind. Then the peace of the Holy Spirit will dominate your mind because you no longer have a guilty conscience. This is the peace of the Lord.
-
Let the Holy Spirit renew your thoughts and attitude.
A corrupted spirit and stained mind do not qualify to get the peace of the Lord, but their opposites do. Allow the Holy Spirit to renew your thoughts and attitude. He will transform you into a new person and qualify you for the peace of the Lord. A renewed mind and attitude will lead you to a Godly life free from worldly corruption. The Holy Spirit will equally lead you away from bad choices that will rob you of peace. Tapping into the peace of the Lord begins in the mind and the Holy Spirit will be your guide.
-
Speak the truth.
Jesus taught that the truth sets free. It is a Christian culture to speak the truth and rightfully so because it is a pillar of salvation. Honesty offloads the burden of guilt from your shoulders and keeps you away from blame. Your heart will be at peace when you do not blame yourself for anything bad that happens to the people around you. The peace of the Lord settles within your heart when you are also at peace with yourself. God is love and speaking the truth is extending this love to others.
-
Manage your anger.
Anger can lead you to make bad choices that you may later regret. Angry actions can lead you to sin against God. In addition, most if not all actions out of anger are not peaceful. It is why anger management is Godly. The Lord warns against sinning in our anger or letting the sun go down while we are still angry because it will give the devil a chance. Further, God says that He loves peace, not disorder. Proper anger management invites His peace into your life.

Do not grieve the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is the promised helper to us who will teach, guide, and correct us in our knowledge of God. The Lord instructs us not to make Him sad through our lifestyle for two reasons – first, it’s because He has identified us as His, and second, He guarantees that we will be saved. The Holy Spirit is the master key to tapping into the peace of the Lord because He is part of the Holy Trinity. When we please Him, God is also pleased and will give us His peace as a blessing.

Practice forgiveness as God did through Christ.
Bitterness ruins the peace in your heart. Your joy dies a natural death whenever you see the person who is the subject of your bitterness. Peace cannot thrive in such an environment. Forgive those who wrong you no matter how difficult it could be. God forgave our sins through Christ and made peace with us. Similarly, making peace with those who have wronged you is tapping into the center of the Lord’s peace. This is how He mended the broken relationship with the human race. Practicing forgiveness is walking in His steps.
You can achieve a lot when you have peace in your heart and spirit. The Lord is waiting for you to tap into His eternal peace. You are His child and He, your Father.
