The will of God is what He intends to happen in your life. It is His independent wish without any external influence. It is perfect, well thought out, and well-meaning to us. The will of God continually looks out for our good even when we may not see it that way sometimes. It is superior to any of our prayers, desires, and wishes. Most importantly, it always prevails. When Jesus was praying before His arrest and crucifixion, He asked His Father to remove the cup of pain from him. Except that, not Jesus’ will be done but that of God. This is a reflection of the weightiness of God’s will. This should also be your daily prayer – the will of God to prevail over your life.

Everyone has specific plans for their life. On the other hand, God has His plans for all of us. He is a very caring Father with the best intentions for you. He knows you better than you know yourself. He understands your weaknesses and strengths. He also knows your ambitions and on top of that, He can decide what is best for you. God does not want you to be lost in your plan but rather focus on THE PLAN.

This is His will for your life:

1. You become a son of the Kingdom of Heaven.

There are two types of people in the Kingdom of Heaven – sons and servants. Jesus explained the first major difference between them; a slave has no permanent place in the family but a son belongs to it forever. God wants you to be a permanent part of His family. This is the reason He sent Jesus to reconcile us with Him. He wants to restore the relationship that was lost after the fall of man. Children are not banished from the family when they go wrong. Instead, they are corrected in love and make up for their wrongdoing. A slave does not enjoy this privilege.

Further, you are treated as a royal in the house of your Father, the King. The Holy Spirit will lead and guide you in the way you should go. He removes the fear of living as slaves and empowers you to call the Father. Do not live fearfully. God shall take care of you as a father does with his children. Just as the firstborn son in the Kingdom, overcame all the tribulations on Earth and conquered death, so shall you also emerge victorious.

2. You become a friend of God.

God wants you to be His friend. Friends have a closer relationship with themselves than servants have with their masters. God is intentional about bringing you closer to Him the way Jesus related with His disciples. He said that he no longer considers them as servants but friends because a servant does not know what his master does. They are Jesus’ friends because he has taught them everything that he learned from the Father. This directly reflects the will of God over our lives. He wants us to be His friends, as the disciples were to Jesus, and nurture a personal relationship with Him.

The Bible is complete with examples of people whom God testifies were His friends. The Lord would speak to Moses face to face the way friends do. Abraham is also another friend of God. He did not withhold his only child as a sacrifice to God. This is the type of friendship that God wants you to have with you. Embrace it tightly.

3. The fruit of your womb will be blessed.

It is the will of God that you are productive and fruitful in both the city and the countryside. He commands blessings to the fruit of your womb, crops on your land, and livestock. God does not rejoice in your suffering or hardship. He wants your children to be successful. They will be great people who will bring a lot of joy to your heart. It is not the will of God that your house should suffer in any way. Consider how God fulfilled His will in the life of Abraham’s descendants. He blessed Isaac, Esau, and Jacob (even though Jacob and Esau were two fighting nations). The Lord directly told Abraham that He would give the land of Canaan to His descendants. This is also His will to the fruit of your womb.

4. You live disease-free.

This is the will of God about your health – He will keep you free from every disease. There are many forms of diseases in the modern world. It is scary to have any of them. They rid you of your joy and glory. God wants you to know that His will about your health shall remain unchanged.

In Egypt, He promised to bless the Israelites’ food and water and to also take away sickness from among them. This promise still stands today. Good health is your eternal portion. This promise is the basis of our faith in God. He will heal your body and spirit unconditionally. Jesus came to the world to fulfill this divine will. He cured the sick, exorcised demons from the possessed, restored sight to the blind, healed the deaf and mute, and even raised the dead! The ministry of Jesus on Earth is to fulfill the will of God about your health in your life.

5. You have eternal life.

Jesus revealed to the Apostles the will of the Father to those who believe in the Son. No one whom Jesus has saved should be lost. They shall be raised on the last day and gifted eternal life. God does not rejoice when you fall back to sin. He wants you to continue holding on to salvation and flourish in it. It is the devil who plants the seed of hopelessness and takes away your joy. However, the Lord gives hope that you shall receive eternal life when you believe in Christ.

The sooner you understand the will of God over your life, the sooner you will concern yourself with issues that matter. You will grow spiritually to fulfill your divine mandate in salvation. This is the will of God.
