Pulling Heavens Down – The Universe’s Guide to Happiness
July 2, 2024In the Revelation of John, it was granted to the bride of the lamb to be dressed in bright and pure fine linen. The fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. The Bride of the Lamb is the Church of God. You should abide by the dressing code of the saints because you are also part of God’s church.
The fashion of dressing.
The fashion of dressing is fast-changing and you may feel the need to catch up with it. Just when you think that you have settled after shopping, a new trend comes up. However, the fashion of the dress code of saints does not change. It never has and is not about to.
Your spiritual dress code identifies you. The way a surgeon is identified by the surgical gown he wears, a police officer by his official uniform, and students by their school uniforms, so is your spirit identified by your dress code. Everyone can see whether or not you are a saint. Most importantly, God can also see you.
Sinners cannot hide behind the dress code of saints. They hide in the shadows because sin makes them feel shameful. Adam and Eve hid from the presence of the Lord among the trees of the garden after sinning. It was not until God made them garments from animal skin that they felt comfortable with each other. The clothes restored their dignity.

The spiritual clothes that saints wear give them the confidence to be in the presence of the Lord. It comes from knowing that your dignity is intact because you follow the dress code of saints.
The dress code of saints explained…
-
The belt of truth.
The function of a belt is to hold up your skirt or trouser. It also makes you look more presentable when you tuck in your shirt. It is part of the dress code of saints. The Lord teaches us to speak the truth always even when the odds are against our favor. Jesus prayed for the disciples to God that He may sanctify them with the truth. This indicates the importance of truth in the dress code of saints. It is incomplete without it. There is one truth about not wearing the belt of truth – you may have to tell one more lie to cover the previous one, and the cycle continues. Embracing the truth prevents you from going deeper into sin. Wear the belt of truth in all situations.
-
Breastplate of righteousness.
The function of a breastplate is to protect the chest area from getting hurt during warfare. A soldier is not yet ready for war until he wears his breastplate. It is for this reason that it is part of the dress code of saints. The Lord teaches that we should practice righteousness throughout our lives. God’s principle is that whoever pursues righteousness and life finds love, prosperity, and honor. It is one more reason that makes righteousness a part of the dress code of saints. A breastplate is worn on the chest where it is very visible. Similarly, righteousness should be a daily practice and very visible to the whole world.

Ready feet to preach the gospel.
Ready feet can take you anywhere in the world. It is a characteristic of a good soldier. This also reflects the life of a saint. He is prepared to take the gospel to other people so that they become like him. This level of preparedness is part of the dress code of saints. Jesus commissioned His disciples to spread the Gospel to all nations and saints continue with this responsibility. You received the good news of salvation because another saint somewhere had ready feet to preach the Gospel to you. Do not hesitate to save another soul out there in the name of Jesus. It is part of the dress code of saints.
-
Shield of faith.
A shield is used to protect a soldier from the attack of the enemy. It is an important part of the war gear. Failure to have it or use it effectively makes you vulnerable to the enemy. Faith is the shield of a saint. It protects you from the unbelief of the world and the temptations of the devil. The shield of faith is so important that it is impossible to please God without it. It completes you as a spiritual soldier. All saints need to have faith to obtain favor from the Lord. Consider it like how a soldier seeks favor with his commander. Faith is the link between God and saints. It is why it is part of the dress code for saints.

-
Helmet of salvation.
A helmet is worn on the head to protect it from danger. It is worth noting that the head is very delicate and needs the extra protection of a helmet. Salvation is the helmet of your spirit. Make it public the way a helmet is worn on the head. It will build your testimony in the community you come from. Dorcas (also called Tabitha) wore the helmet of salvation and was resurrected by Simon Peter because the people whose lives she touched showed him her work. Like Dorcas who was a saint, always wear your helmet of salvation because it is part of your dress code.
-
Sword of the spirit.
A sword is used to attack the enemy. It is an important part of a soldier’s armor. The word of God is the sword of a saint. It is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword. The Lord wants you to have it because it is part of the dress code of saints. Be full of the word of God and you will fight the enemy on whatever front he comes at you. This is how our Lord Jesus overcame the devil when he tempted Him.
The dress code of saints completes you. It makes you visible in a good way and earns you the spiritual recognition you need. The dress code of saints is the full armor of God.
