How to be Part of the Unity of the Body of Christ
March 5, 2024A prophecy is a prediction of the future. It is when someone sees the future and speaks about it in the present. It is immaterial to those in the present because they have not seen the future until it is finally fulfilled. This is when they remember that what has happened is exactly how someone foretold it, every part of it. Prophecies are divine. The ordinary man can’t know what will happen one minute from now except when it is revealed to them by God. He knows everything, is omnipresent, and all-powerful. Nothing is hidden in His sight. He reveals the future to those He wants to so that they can prepare for it. He can also reveal it to you!
Prophecies have remained a mystery for a long time because it is humanly impossible to create them. Life happens to everyone in different ways as the Lord wishes. It is Him who plans our whole life ahead of us. Everything he reveals about the future is eventually fulfilled and there is nothing you can do about it except you submit yourself to Him.

Who are the prophets in your life?
For a long time, Israel did not have a King. Instead, they had a judge who was their leader. The judge was a link between God and the people. He was also a prophet who would foresee the future and lead the nation in the ways of the Lord. This leadership style was successful until the Israelites demanded to have a King and become like other nations. It displeased the Lord and Prophet Samuel became their last Judge. God led him to ordain a King that the people wanted.
What kind of leadership do you accept into your life? There are prophets whom the Lord has put in your life (some of whom you don’t know yet) but when you demand a King, as the Israelites did, you will miss out on all the prophecies from God. Demanding for a King to be like other nations is equivalent to following your desires so that you become like your peers. You will miss the prophet whom the Lord has put in your life.
The prophets whom the Lord has put in your life are your parents and priest. They have direct authority over your life and represent the Lord’s authority. The King that the people want besides the God-sent prophets is a worldly pleasure. God wants you to stick to His prophets and embrace His prophecies. Your prosperity is anchored on your faith in His prophets.
Do you choose to remain with God’s prophets or do you prefer a King and be like other nations?
Preparing your spirit for Godly prophecies.
It matters a lot how you embrace prophecies spoken by God’s messenger. It can either bring it to a fast fulfillment or delay it a little longer. This is how you can prepare your spirit for Godly prophecies:
1. Believe, don’t doubt.
We learn the lesson of believing in the Lord’s prophecy through Mary. When Angel Gabriel appeared to her, she was troubled when the Angel greeted her and called her highly favored, and blessed among women. The news that she would conceive by the power of the Holy Spirit was difficult to believe because she was a virgin. She was already betrothed to David and her wedding was upcoming. Despite all of this, Mary did not doubt the Angel of the Lord.

This also happens to your spirit when the prophets in your life prophesy a message like Mary’s. You could be wondering how it is possible for a less experienced staff to be promoted or how you can get a child after many years without any. The first step is not to look at the difficulty of the prevailing circumstances but at the possibility of the Lord fulfilling it.
2. Accept God’s will.
Mary accepted God’s will to be fulfilled. She did not argue or show the Angel how it can’t happen. Instead, she openly accepted that God should fulfill His will in her life. She acknowledged that she belongs to God and He can do whatever He wills with her. This open-mindedness is very commendable.
This is how we should also accept God’s prophecy in our life. Your life as a Christian is in the hands of God. Allow Him to do what He plans with you. He did it with Mary and the Messiah was born! When you allow God’s prophets to prophecy over your life, His perfect will is fulfilled. Resisting it sets you up for punishment. Zechariah, John the Baptist’s father, resisted God’s will about the birth of John, and Angel Gabriel made him mute. Accepting God’s will in your life prepares your spirit to welcome His prophecy.
3. Listen and obey the guidelines of the prophecy.
Prophecies are not unconditional. God has ordained your role in them. You should be willing to implement your part in the fulfillment of this prophecy. When the Angel of the Lord appeared to Manoah’s wife and prophesied the birth of Samson, He clearly outlined the roles of the parents in the fulfillment of His prophecy. Samson’s mother was forbidden from taking wine or eating anything unclean. After the child’s birth, Manoah and his wife are to ensure that the child shall never be shaved. These guidelines are attached to the fulfillment of the prophecy of the birth of Samson.
You also have a part to play in the fulfillment of the Lord’s prophecies in your life. Pray about it and commit it to God so that it is not stolen by the enemy. The success of Samson’s parents in obeying the guidelines of the prophecy of his birth led to its fulfillment. Similarly, when you obey the guidelines of the Lord’s prophecy over your life, it shall surely come to pass.
Prophecies are a mystery in the life of a Christian. However, God shall teach your spirit how to embrace them, and eventually, the prophecies will be fulfilled.
