Papers, as most people loosely call them, are your identification documents. It could be your birth, academic, professional, or traveling certificates that identify who you are and prove you earned them. Your academic and professional papers can get you a job because they prove you are trained and qualified. Your passport and visa can grant you entry into a foreign country.

Lastly, your identity card and birth certificate give you the right to access government services because you can prove you are a citizen. You will have a difficult time if you lack any such crucial documents. People will question your nationality, professional qualifications, or health status because you lack the necessary papers. 

Most governments globally have invested a lot in identifying their citizens, to the point of conducting a population census, so that they can plan and account for them. Sometimes they share this data with partner countries and hold you accountable for what you do within and outside your native state. If the world has such comprehensive plans for its people, how much more is it with the spiritual realm? 

Spiritual documentation.

Just as it is in your earthly life, your spirit also has papers. They give you the right to attain certain achievements and own some possessions. The better your spiritual documentation, the stronger your spirit becomes. Every believer needs to put his/her spiritual papers in order. These are some of the papers you need: 

1. Salvation is your birth certificate. 

Salvation is accepting Jesus Christ to become Lord and Savior of your life. It is also to be born again and start a new life in Christ. Its earthly equivalent is the birth certificate that introduces you to the worldly governance system. It has your parents’ details, place of birth, and birth registration number. Salvation was introduced by Jesus for the first time to Nicodemus. He emphasized that unless a person is born again, he will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven.  

Salvation welcomes you into the spiritual world. It is your first identification document that you should keep safe for the whole of your lifetime. Protect it as you do your birth certificate. 

2. The Holy Spirit is your identity card. 

The Holy Spirit is our promised helper. He is the badge of honor that God has given to all Christians. He is the second greatest gift, after Jesus Christ, that God has given humanity. The Holy Spirit, being the mind of God, tells us everything we need to know about the Father. It is impossible to know the will of God without His revelation.  

The children of God are those led by the Holy Spirit. It effectively makes Him our identity card. While a birth certificate gives you a birth registration number, an identity card admits you to the government system. Pray to receive the Holy Spirit and you will be registered in the Heavenly system as a child of God.  

3. Victory over temptations is your academic and professional papers. 

A born-again Christian filled with the Holy Spirit is not immune from temptations. Like Jesus, you can also overcome temptations because you are a child of God. This victory is like academic and professional papers that qualify you for a particular job. Having a record of overcoming temptations, especially where other people have failed, qualifies you for greater spiritual responsibilities. Victorious people are later appointed by God to execute greater leadership responsibilities because they have proved their qualifications. 

Take every temptation as an opportunity to earn your spiritual document of victory. Temptations are the fire through which God takes us. We will be refined like gold and God will answer us when we call Him. You can repair your communication with God by earning the spiritual certificate of victory.  

4. Faith is your passport and visa. 

How much do you trust God? It is like having a passport or visa. Both documents allow you to enter another country. Faith allows your spiritual travel and migration from one social level to the next. You first buy a house or car through faith in the spirit before doing the actual physical transaction. Lacking it or not having enough of it stagnates you in one position for a long time because you lack sufficient spiritual documentation. 

Have faith in everything you do just as the way you carry your passport every time you travel. The immigration officer at the airport checks its validity before stamping it to allow you entry into the foreign country. God also looks at the level of your faith before answering your prayer. Like Jesus fondly said, “May it be done according to your faith.” 

5. Righteousness is your business permit. 

Righteousness gives you the right to trade in God’s market. This is where you have the right to pray to God about anything as His child and He answers you. You need to be righteous for this to happen. A business permit gives you the right to trade peacefully because the necessary authority already knows you. It is how righteousness also gives you life, prosperity, and honor as you trade in God’s market. 

The doors of the spiritual realm open to those with the license of righteousness. Their prayers are answered quickly and they face little to no resistance because they are compliant. Just as law-abiding enterprises or citizens are quickly served by their governments, so does the spiritual realm prioritize righteous people. 

6. The truth is your driving license. 

The truth is the fact of the matter. It is an accurate report of what exists. The world gives driving licenses to those qualified to drive vehicles because they know the truth about driving. Without this truth, the car will not move an inch. It is why the truth is your spiritual driving license. Your ability to drive your car depends on how well you know it. You will make a lot of progress when you know the truth but none when you know nothing.  

Arm yourself with the truth and you will progress spiritually. This will translate to progress in your worldly life. Your blessing is coming soon because you know the truth.
